The Pharma Logistics Live Summit Successfully Concluded: A Key Gathering for Logistics in the Pharmaceutical Sector
The Pharma Logistics Live Summit, organized by the Supply Chain Institute with the scientific support of Planning, was held on November 7, 2024, and served as a reference point for the pharmaceutical logistics sector in Greece. The event brought together over 240 top executives, experts, institutional representatives, and academics in the field.

Conference Focus Areas
The summit focused on three main thematic pillars:
Section 1a: Serialization
This session emphasized the urgent need for compliance with the European Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD). Experts presented the impact of serialization on the supply chain, outlining changes, challenges, and advantages in effective pharmaceutical management.
Section 1b: e-Delivery Note
The digitization of goods movement through the electronic delivery note (e-DA) and its digital tracking capabilities were at the core of this section, with discussions on how these tools enhance transparency and efficiency in the pharmaceutical supply chain.
Section 2: Quality
This section addressed the evolving demands of the cold chain and the importance of complying with GDP (Good Distribution Practice) standards. Presenters emphasized the role of new technologies in ensuring quality during the transport of temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals.
Section 3: Reverse Logistics in Pharma
The final section focused on return management, the necessity of simplifying processes, and the presentation of technological solutions that streamline reverse logistics—facilitating the management of returns and expired products.
